Kirkman's Glucosamine Sulfate capsules offer a convenient way of adding sulfate to the diet. Each 500 mg. capsule supplies about 150 mg. of the actual sulfate portion of the glucosamine salt. Glucosamine Sulfate offers an accurate method of sulfation and the absorbability has been proven clinically which is not the case with epsom salt baths or compounded transdermal preparations. One study found that up to 98% of orally administered glucosamine sulfate is absorbed, while another study showed that about 90% is absorbed via oral administration.1,2

Glucosamine may play a role in supporting the structure and function of cartilage in the body. Further studies are necessary to verify this relationship which appears very promising in supporting joint function.
