Developed by leading pediatric researchers and clinicians, the speakĀ® formulation contains 7 nutrients in precise doses and ratios for children with special nutritional requirements. Speak is available in four different forms: capsule, twist off capsules, speak Smooth, and Pure Oil.
The speakĀ®Ā Smooth formulation includes seven nutrients in precise servings and ratios for children with special nutritional needs. Each serving of speakĀ® contains concentrated, ultra-purified omega-3 (725 mg EPA, 275 mg DHA) in addition to rich amounts of two forms of vitamin E.
Omega-3 supports cognitive function and is paired with the antioxidant vitamin E.
Optimal amounts of both d-alpha and gamma tocopherols function as key antioxidants and operate along omega-3 fats to support neurological health and provide essential nutrition.
Due to the theoretical blood thinning effects of omega-3 and vitamin E, vitamin K (a normal and healthy blood clotting nutrient) is also included.
This precise combination of purified ingredients is delivered in a convenient creamy liquid which can be poured directly from the bottle in a 1 tablespoon serving size resulting in greater ease of use for parents and children.
Why do you need to take the speakĀ® supplement with foods containing fat?
The fat-soluble contents ā omega-3 and vitamins E and K ā of the speakĀ® supplement are better absorbed with foods containing fat. Suggestions include coconut milk, avocado, nut butters (almond, cashew), peanut butter, nuts, seeds, egg yolks, fish, poultry, beef, pork, and lamb. For those not on a casein restricted diet (a protein in dairy products that many children cannot tolerate), yogurt, whole milk, cheese, and pudding are also good fat-containing choices.ā
When should I begin to notice beneficial changes in my child?
Every child is different and responses vary. Not all children experience benefits in the same ways or during the same period. Several factors may influence a childās response, such as consistency and serving, co-existing conditions, previous supplementation, transition time, and adherence to special diets.
The time of year can also impact response due to summer allergies, winter cold and flu season, etc. It is recommended to give speak on a daily basis (consistency is key) for a minimum of a 4 month period to determine if your child benefits from the nutrients in speak.
My child seems more emotional, weepy, agitated. Is this normal?
Emotional outbursts and transient moods are common when children begin supplementing with omega-3 supplements. Each child is different. If your child has been āvery compliantā, a change in this behavior may be considered normal. Parents have reported the āTasmanian Devilā effect, where children become very active, oppositional but in time (2-3 weeks) rebalance.

Supplement Facts
How to take it
Start with 1/2 Tbsp of Smooth twice daily for two weeks.
Increase to 1/2 Tbsp three times daily for another two weeks.
Then increase to 1 Tbsp twice daily, up to a maximum of 1.5 Tbsp twice daily.
If your child has never taken omega-3 or vitamin E supplements:
Start with 1/2 Tbsp of Smooth daily for two weeks.
Increase to 1/2 Tbsp twice daily for 12 weeks, gradually reaching up to 1 Tbsp twice daily.
