Quercetin, a water-soluble plant pigment (or, flavonoid), is found in plants and foods and cannot be produced in the human body. It is one of the most bioactive flavonoids, helping to support cardiometabolic, cellular, and immune health. It is also considered a phytoestrogen.^*

Studies suggest that quercetin may also promote healthy vision. An animal study indicated quercetin supported prostate cell health by moderating receptor function. In vitro studies have also reported that this powerful flavonoid may support colon and breast cell health.*

More about this quercetin formula

Quercetin belongs to the flavonoid family of plant compounds. The manufacturer also describes support for capillary strength and integrity and protection of lipids from oxidation, complementing its cellular, immune and cardiometabolic positioning.^‡

Ingredient source and dietary suitability

This formula's quercetin is sourced from pods of the Fava d'anta tree (Dimorphandra mollis). It is not the separate Quercetin UltraSorb formula. Pure Encapsulations describes this product as vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free and non-GMO. Its product information lists no wheat, soy, dairy, eggs, tree nuts, peanuts or sesame, and no magnesium stearate, artificial colors or sweeteners, coatings, shellacs, unnecessary binders, fillers or preservatives, trans fat or hydrogenated oils.

Frequently asked questions

Who is this formula for, and when should it be taken?

The manufacturer identifies it for adults 18 and older. Its directions are two capsules between meals, once or twice daily, unless a healthcare professional directs otherwise.

Is it 250 mg or 500 mg?

Both refer to the same capsule strength: one capsule supplies 250 mg, while the manufacturer's two-capsule serving supplies 500 mg. Check the serving size whenever comparing labels or products.

Can I use it with medicines or other supplements?

Discuss your full medication and supplement list with your prescriber or pharmacist. The manufacturer's 2025 professional information identifies possible interactions with cyclosporine, diclofenac, midazolam, pravastatin and quetiapine. It also describes preliminary evidence that quercetin may increase exposure to green-tea catechins, potentially increasing their effects or adverse effects. This is not an exhaustive interaction list.

What do the mast-cell and healthy-aging research references mean?

The manufacturer's professional resource discusses laboratory work on antioxidant activity and mast-cell signaling, alongside investigation of quercetin and cellular aging. These findings provide research context, not proof that this finished supplement treats allergies, removes aging cells or produces a specific clinical result. Its discussion of COMT is also inconclusive for human dopamine metabolism and cognition.

Can someone with a corn allergy assume it is safe?

No. A plant-based formula is not itself a corn-allergy guarantee. Pure Encapsulations states that it does not routinely test for corn allergens and cannot guarantee safety for someone with a corn allergy. Ask a healthcare professional to review the exact bottle ingredients.

What storage and safety guidance applies?

Store in a cool, dry location and keep out of children's reach. Consult your healthcare professional before use during pregnancy or breastfeeding, with any health condition or while taking medication. Do not use a bottle with a damaged or missing safety seal.

Why might the packaging differ from the photograph?

The manufacturer has introduced smooth bottles without embossing and removed some outer plastic neckbands. The protective seal beneath the cap is still important. Packaging changes alone do not establish a change in formula.
