Hyaluronic acid, or HA, is a naturally occurring polymer found in every tissue of the body. It is particularly concentrated in the skin and in joint fluids but decreases with aging. This hyaluronic acid supplement helps promote skin and cartilage hydration. It may reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and it also provides joint lubrication and comfort.
Many sources of HA offer large molecular-weight compounds that are too big to be absorbed in the intestines. HyaMax® sodium hyaluronate provides a low molecular weight source of HA. HA functions include attracting and retaining water in tissues—for skin cells, this is essential for proper cell-to-cell communication, hydration, nutrient delivery, and waste elimination. For joints, HA is especially supportive with healthy lubrication and shock absorption.

Definitely softens and smooths skin for over a few hours
This product uses Fenchem's Hyamax. Hyamax is produced through microbial fermentation. It seems to definitely soften and smooth the skin on the face for more than a few hours after ingestion of a single, 70 mg capsule.
