Suntheanine and formula details

This formula uses Suntheanine®, a branded form of L-theanine produced by enzymatic fermentation. Although L-theanine also occurs naturally in tea leaves, this supplement is not a green-tea extract. Caffeine is not listed in its Supplement Facts or other ingredients.

• One size 2 vegetarian capsule supplies 200 mg of L-theanine. Two capsules supply 400 mg. A Daily Value has not been established.
• The 60-capsule bottle (LTH6) provides 60 one-capsule servings or 30 two-capsule servings. The 120-capsule bottle (LTH1) provides 120 one-capsule servings or 60 two-capsule servings. Servings are not necessarily days of use.

Its product information sheet identifies ages 8 and up, while the professional webpage's separate indications line says 18 and up. The age-specific directions are consistent across the manufacturer's professional page, consumer page and product information sheet. Ask your healthcare professional which schedule applies, particularly at age 18, and do not infer a dose for younger children.

Why do some labels show 200 mg and others 400 mg?

They use different serving sizes, not different capsule strengths. The current manufacturer's dual-column label gives 200 mg for one capsule and 400 mg for two capsules. The existing two-capsule facts panel describes the same 200 mg-per-capsule formula.

Is it vegan, and is it safe for a corn allergy?

Pure Encapsulations identifies this formula as vegan and vegetarian. That does not establish corn-allergy safety: the manufacturer says it does not routinely test for corn allergens and cannot guarantee safety for someone with a corn allergy.
